Aqua awoke near Balouve Mines to find a wounded Umbra left outside. After healing him, she uses her Keyblade to return Umbra to his owner. She finds herself in Atlissia, where the Oracle Lunafreya awaits news of the now King Noctis. Aqua is welcomed by Lunafreya, and found to be a candidate of a Warrior of Light.
Once chosen by a King of Lucis, Aqua joins Lunafreya and her Queensguard (the Warriors of Light), to retrieve the Crystal and save Noctis from falling into darkness.
